Can a universal 12 volt wireless remote control be connected to a capacitor?

Ive been thinking about ordering a universal 12 volt wireless remote control so I can turn my car amp on and off when I want to. I no it has a 12v input and output. So I was wondering could I hook up the remote 12v input to my 2 farad cap and the 12v out out to the amp 12v. Or would hooking up the 12v input to the cap be too much power?
