Can one just BELIEVE w/o really knowing what it is they are believing?

Like with Bible studies, and the way the Bible explains things in chronological order and stuff is just waaay too difficult to understand, and gets all mixed up in your head.....is it ok to just lay all that book knowledge down, and have a feeling of believing anyway? Or is that being fake?
